What is the BTC MarketCap?

As defined in our crypto glossary, the marketcap (or market capitalization) of a given coin refers to the price of that asset multiplied with the circulating supply (the total number of coins in circulation — in the hands of the general public). For example, if Bitcoin has a price of $10,000, and there are 16 million total Bitcoin in circulation, then the Bitcoin MarketCap will be $160 billion. The marketcap of a given coin is one of the most common metrics used to describe the relative size, importance and impact of that asset.


How do I Track the Bitcoin MarketCap?

Our platform offers free Bitcoin MarketCap alerts, so you can get live notifications delivered to your device when the market cap crosses a given threshold. We collect market data every minute, so expect no delays when receiving an alert!

To get started, simply head over to the Crypto MarketCap alert page, or use the embedded form below. Select a method to receive alerts (we support 9 different notification methods) and select Bitcoin in the dropdown. Finally, specify a threshold that you would like to monitor (note that the quantity is measured in billions).

You'll be prompted to sign up for a free account if you haven't already. You only need a valid email address to sign up. We ask for no personal information.
