SMS alerts blocked in US and Canada
It has come to our attention that US and Canadian phone carriers have decided that cryptocurrency content is no longer allowed.
As of August 2nd 2024, our SMS provider (Twilio) has decided to block us from sending SMS alerts to any US or Canadian phone number. Phone calls and international SMS alerts are unaffected.
This is a core feature of our business, and something that thousands of our users derive value from. It's an incredibly frustrating decision that we are forced to accept after 6 successful years of providing realtime SMS alerts to our customers. Our product requires that individuals explicitly double opt-in to receive these alerts. They need to verify their phone number with a confirmation code, and they also don't receive alerts until they explicitly create them with our platform. We feel this kind of regulatory overreach hurts small businesses such as ourselves, while does nothing to prevent the phishing scams that still run rampant. We will continue to work with our SMS provider and the phone carriers to re-enable our SMS alerts but we are not sure if or when this might happen.
In the meantime, we offer fast and reliable alternatives to SMS, such as Push, Telegram, Slack and Discord. Please let us know if you have any other questions as we continue to explore our remaining options. We apologize for the inconvenience.
