When a top crypto exchange lists a new coin or token, it can be a big deal. Exchange listings are seen as a huge endorsement by the community and give crypto projects a boost in credibility. Additionally, exchanges like Coinbase and Binance can greatly increase the market liquidity of an asset, giving larger institutional investors less hesitation to invest in a project.During the bull market of 2017, we often saw prices of an asset explode when news broke of a big exchange listing. It wouldn't be uncommon to see a price jump 40-60% immediately following the news. We've seen similar behavior with the rise of promising DeFi projects in the summer of 2020, which followed into a memecoin explosion the following year. In short, you probably want to know ASAP the next time an exchange like Coinbase, Binance and Kraken lists a new token. That's why our Exchange Listing tool has become one of our most popular products.
How fast do you send these alerts?
We are typically able to detect and send out a notification on a new listing within 60 seconds of it occurring. Users on the Hobby tier may experience some additional lag, as we prioritize sending out notifications to our paid members before our free ones.Announcements vs Listings
We alert on new exchange listings as soon as we detect them using the public APIs that exchanges offer. Some exchanges also provide additional data prior to when a coin is listed. This allows us to provide upcoming listing announcement alerts prior to the listing event itself. Both the announcement and the listing itself will be alerted upon whenever possible. The time between the announcement and the listing can vary from under an hour to as much as several days.Ticker symbol mismatch
Our system can sometimes show an incorrect name for a given cryptocurrency, since we only get an abbreviated ticker symbol ("ETH" for example, rather than "Ethereum") from the exchange. We then have to look up the name associated with that symbol in our own database, which could result in a mismatch. When in doubt, look up the symbol on the exchange itself to make sure what the name of the token is. This issue does not typically happen very often.Do your own research!
Please note that while we work very hard to maintain a fast and accurate service, we cannot guarantee 100% accuracy. Exchanges periodically change their API, or even their exchange listing process itself. Alerts delivered on our platform do not represent financial advice, and we certainly don't recommend that someone blindly purchase a specific cryptocurrency for the sole reason that it was listed by an exchange.Getting started
